In light of the recent security breach at the South Carolina Department of Revenue, I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know about security procedures in place at the South Carolina Autism Society (SCAS).
First, SCAS is a registered 503(c) non-profit, not affiliated with the South Carolina state government.

Autism Awareness License Plate
The South Carolina Autism Society is preparing to file a petition to the SC Department of Motor Vehicles for an autism awareness license plate.
In order to file the paperwork, we need a minimum of 400 individuals who are willing to sign up and pay the approximately $75 for the license plate. Below is the proposed license plate designs. Note that they have not been approved by the DMV.

SC ABA will be holding its 1st annual conference on Friday, Nov. 9th at MUSC in Charleston. This is an exciting event as it is the first time behavior analysts have convened together as a group in a conference-like atmosphere.
SC ABA has invited some prominent speakers from inside and outside our state, including Denny Reid, Carol Pilgrim, Lorri Unumb, Ceclia Knight, Stacie Neff, and others.......Parents may be particularly interested in our panel discussion on providing ABA services in SC, discussions of pros and cons.........the panel will include BCBA's from different geographic areas around the state.

MUSC, USC, and GHS are pleased to announce a new research project. This study will examine biomarkers (genes) in blood and the success of two medications, risperidone and aripiprazole, for treatment of irritability in autism. Compensation is available to study participants.
