|
The University of South Carolina-College of Education has announced that they will be offering the 225-hour coursework needed to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Examination. The Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc. has approved the following course sequence as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination. Applicants will have to meet additional requirements to qualify. The courses will be offered to individuals of either degreed or non-degreed status. Individuals who are not degreed may enroll in USC as a non-degree track student, and then decide (prior to the fifth class) to pursue a master’s degree for all four previous classes to transfer into the masters program. USC is offering the only program in South Carolina relating to this coursework. SC Autism Society was a strong advocate with USC to apply for this status. Erik Drasgow, PhD, BCBA is associate professor for the Department of Educational Studies at USC and serves on the SCAS Board of Directors. USC will be offering the first of five courses during the 2007 fall semester. Classes will meet every Tuesday from 4:30-7:15 pm, from Tuesday, August 28th through Tuesday, December 4th, 2007. Please contact Dr. Erik Drasgow at 803-777-8898 or drasgow@gwm.sc.edu for more information. Classes will also be scheduled for spring and fall 2008. |
